Brochure M.S. Theoretical Physics
IF’s Master of Science Program in Theoretical Physics admitted its first class in August 2014. The 2018 admission is open in both 1st and 2nd semesters.
Course Objectives
- The curriculum does not concentrate only on cosmology or high-energy theoretical physics graduates. However, students should expect to graduate with a strong understanding of physics in order to pursue a doctorate in other experimental or applied areas such as astrophysics, physical chemistry, solid physics and materials science, nuclear physics, laser physics and optics, electrical engineering, telecommunications, applied mathematics, financial engineering and other fields.
- To develop the knowledge base of physics graduates with a bachelor’s degree from Thailand’s educational system and to allow graduates with a bachelor’s degree to return to school full-time to finish their degree if they failed their first attempt. Students will also be able to deliver knowledge with the correct understanding if they become teachers in the future and have to teach these courses.
- To provide knowledge at a higher level than that of a bachelor’s degree.
- Courses covering a broad range of theoretical physics are prioritized in order to prepare students for all theoretical physics tools.
- The Master’s Thesis in Theoretical Physics does not place a high value on research quality, but rather on reviewing numerous research subjects in a survey format and highlighting the importance of laying a solid foundation for subsequent development at the graduate and doctorate levels.
- The research thesis, which is a dissertation compulsory with a low threshold, are to be published locally in TCI’s Quartile 1 journal or a full article at the Siam Physics Congress based on the curriculum philosophy that emphasizes solid foundation preparation and survey on Academic disciplines selected.
The difference between this course and the M.Sc. (Physics) offered by the Department of Physics in the Faculty of Science at several American universities is that the M.Sc. (Theoretical Physics) offers all subjects that build on knowledge from a bachelor’s degree program in a single step.
(as a result, there are no consecutive Quantum Mechanics I and Quantum Mechanics II courses.) as well as focuses on learning to cover a wide range of theoretical physics (before studying at the advanced level, obtain a High. Grad. Dip.) and reiterating and building on theoretical topics taught throughout the bachelor’s degree. Graduates will get not only a Naresuan University M.Sc. (Theoretical Physics) degree, but also a
Master’s degree at Tha Pho School Institute (M.TP.) in accordance with the Institute’s traditions.
