Congratulations to Mr. Atichat Jaruphattharaphanit on a Successful Thesis Proposal Defense!
We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Atichat Jaruphattharaphanit has officially cleared a major milestone in his academic journey. Today, May 6, 2026, Atichat successfully passed his Master’s Thesis Proposal Examination at The Institute for Fundamental Study (IF).
The Research Focus
Atichat’s research dives deep into the mathematical complexities of black hole physics and gravitational waves. His thesis, titled:
“On the higher Overtone of Quasinormal-Modes in a Large angular Momentum Limit”
explores the “ringing” of spacetime—specifically looking at higher overtones in the eikonal limit (large angular momentum). These studies are crucial for understanding how black holes settle back into equilibrium after a disturbance and provide vital insights into the nature of gravity itself.
A Special Note of Thanks
This achievement was made possible through rigorous dedication and expert mentorship. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Committee Chair:
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sikarin Yoo-Kong His invaluable guidance, sharp insights, and unwavering support have been instrumental in shaping this research proposal.
Looking Ahead
The IF community is incredibly proud of Atichat’s hard work and academic excellence. Passing the proposal stage is a testament to his potential as a researcher, and we eagerly anticipate the discoveries he will bring to the realm of Theoretical Physics as he moves toward his final defense.
