Professor David Wands
David Wands studied physics and maths at the University of Cambridge where he was awarded M.A. degree and later awarded D.Phil in Astronomy at the University of Sussex in 1993 under Prof. John D. Barrow. David joined the Relativity and Cosmology Group at University of Portsmouth in 1996 and was awarded a Royal Society University Research Fellowship in 1999, before being promoted to professor in the newly formed Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation in 2002. David published over 100 scientific papers in international journals and given talks on five continents. In 2010 David spent 3 months as a visiting professor at Kyoto University in Japan and led a team which was awarded the Daiwa-Adrian prize for UK-Japan scientific collaboration. He is an editor of EPL (Europhysics Letters, published by the European Physical Society) and a Fellow of the Institute of Physics (F.Inst.P.), a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society (F.R.A.S.) and Fellow of the International Society for General Relativity and Gravitation. At present, David Wands is one of the world leader and world pioneer in cosmological perturbation theory research. More information from David Wands’ personal website
