Title: ” Exploring f(R) gravity through phase space “

Abstract: Cosmological field equations for gravity are usually complicated, even more so when we switch from general relativity to modified gravity. More often than not they do not admit any exact solutions. A mathematical technique called the dynamical systems is usually adopted to study cosmology qualitatively. With the help of this technique, one recasts the cosmological dynamics as a phase flow in a suitably defined phase space. This technique is now widely used by cosmologists. In my talk I will give a historical account of various dynamical system approaches that have been introduced for modified f(R) theories of gravity, touching upon some of my own works in this direction.
